Submissions

General Submission Guidelines

The symposium submission and review follows a double-blind review process.

Submission Track Selection

When submitting, you must make a decision on the track most relevant to your submission (ResearchTeaching, or Prototypes track). If you feel your submission is suitable for more than one track, please submit it to only that track where you deem the submission would make the most important contribution. An author can, however, submit more than one manuscript for consideration to be included in the symposium program.

Submission System

Papers will be submitted through Conferency submission system (submitting author needs to create an account to submit the paper). The link to the submission system can be found in each of the ResearchTeaching, and Prototypes tracks.

Length and Formatting Requirements

The requirements listed under each track are firm. Please refer to the specific track to find out more about these requirements. Any submission that exceeds length limits or deviates from formatting requirements will be rejected without review. Please use the submission template to prepare your manuscript for submission. Do not include author(s) and affiliation info during the original submission and review. If your manuscript has been accepted for the Symposium, then add author(s) and affiliation information during resubmission of the camera-ready copy of the manuscript.

Publication Options

Authors of accepted papers in the Research and Teaching tracks will have the option of publishing: (a) the complete manuscript OR (b) an extended abstract (single-spaced 2-3 pages) as part of the symposium proceedings on AIS eLibrary. If authors choose to publish only the extended abstract, authors will retain copyright of the manuscript submitted for review and feedback.

Originality of Submissions

Submissions to the pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium must not already have been published or accepted in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Further, they must not be currently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.

Language

The language of the symposium and all submissions must be in English language only.

Best Paper Recognition

One paper each from the research and teaching tracks will be selected for the “Best Paper” award recognition. Also, one prototype from the prototypes track will be selected for the “Best Prototype” award recognition.

Doctoral Research Award

To encourage doctoral students to participate in AIS SIGDSA events and to financially support the presentation of their research at the Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium, one or two awards will be given on a competitive basis. Find out more about the award eligibility criteria and the application process in the Research Track section.

Commitment to Participate in the Symposium

At least one author of every accepted submission and all members of every accepted Panel, Workshop, Tutorial sessions must register for the conference by the early registration deadline (check the Important Dates).
